The Forestry Yearbook Website WWW.FORESTRYYEARBOOK.IE was established to be used in conjunction with the ITGA Forestry & Timber Yearbook, which is regarded as the definitive directory and reference yearbook for the Irish forest industry.

The Forestry & Timber Yearbook is circulated to all sectors of the Irish Forest Industry including timber growers, wood processors and their customers, the timber trade, forest companies, contractors, foresters, forestry consultants, State agencies and financial institutions as well as the media.

Donal Whelan is a forestry graduate from UCD and holds the position of Technical Director of the Irish Timber Growers Association and is principal of Commercial Forestry Services Ltd.
Donal was involved in the development of various industry initiatives including the ITGA Model Timber Sales System, the Irish Thinning Protocol and the Roundwood Price Database.
Donal has served as Chairman of the Irish Forest Certification Initiative and Vice-Chairman of the Irish Forest Industry Chain and currently represent growers on the National Forest Policy Review Group and other industry bodies.
Donal was appointed to COFORD in 2008 and chaired the Development Group which launched the Forestry 2030 papers highlighting the contribution of Irish forests to the State.

Donal Magner is a forestry consultant specialising in communications and editorial.
He formed Magner Communications in 1993 after a career in forestmanagement and communications with the Forest Service and Coillte.
He holds a master?s degree in forestry from UCD, is Secretary of the WoodMarketing Federation, forestry correspondent with the Irish Farmers Journal and has served as Chairman of the Irish Forest Industry Chain in IBEC.
In addition to the yearbook, he has edited and produced a number of publications including Woodspec the critically acclaimed guide to timber design, Glimpses of Irish Forestry, Ecologies of Distance and Devil?s Glen: Sculpture in Woodland. His comprehensive guide to the forests and woodlands of Ireland Stopping by Woods was published in 2010.
